FAQs

Does changing the schema affect current user types?

  • Existing user types are not affected by changes to the schema, only user types being created or modified are affected by the schema.

How do I transfer a user to another user type or third party?

  • Do not transfer the user to another user type or third party as this will make it difficult to track the history of users within user types or third parties. Instead make a new user for transfers.

Why are user types missing when I try to bulk add users?

bulk add empty.png

  • This could be due to the attribute bulk load being disabled within the user type to be bulk loaded.
  • This could also be due to the current user not having a role to administer this user type.

Why is an approval not created when a user performs an action within UMT?

  • Approvals in UMT are only related to user creation, not actions undertaken within UMT.

Why is an attribute missing during user creation or modification despite it being enabled in their user type?

  • Some attributes are properties of an object. For this attribute to be enabled then the attribute and its object must both be enabled. To identify if an attribute is an object property see if there is a "." within its name. The dot defines the object and its property. The text is formatted as "object.property". For example "name.formatted", "phoneNumber.value" and "photos.value".

Why is an attribute I have set as inheritable not appearing within users?

  • Making an attribute inheritable does not make it visible within UMT as that is determined by the user's user type. Inherited attributes will always be stored within the UMT database and can be enacted upon by lifecycle rules.
